Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Baraka Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is a functional food ingredient that has also been investigated for its potential nutraceutical applications. When consumed, Baraka organic virgin coconut oil provides dietary fatty acids and contains naturally occurring bioactive compounds that contribute to its biological properties. It is also reported to exhibit antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.

Baraka Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is produced from organically grown fresh coconut kernels in Sri Lanka using the cold-pressing method. Compared with conventional coconut oil produced from copra, Baraka organic virgin coconut oil retains higher levels of certain naturally occurring minor bioactive compounds, including polyphenolic compounds. Barka virgin coconut oil is rich in saturated fatty acids and contains a substantial proportion of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), with lauric acid being the predominant fatty acid. MCFAs account for more than 64% of the total fatty acid composition of Baraka organic virgin coconut oil, with lauric acid representing approximately 76% of the MCFA fraction.
